Stand up for your health!
The human body is designed to stand, not to sit. A sedentary life does more harm than good. Standing offers a surprising amount of benefits to your health:
- Standing tones your back and leg muscles, ensuring proper balance. It helps burn more calories, maintain healthy glucose and cholesterol levels and avoid blood clot formation in the legs.
- Research shows that standing more can prolong your lifespan. Over 100,000 men and women from across the United States participated in the research, which spanned over 14 years. Those who sat for more than six hours a day were more likely to live shorter lives than those who sat for less than three hours a day.
If you spend most of your day sitting, try to stand up every half an hour. You do not need to stand all day! Standing up more often is much better for your health than standing for many hours in a row.
Next time, we'll share a simple but effective method to relax your muscles at any moment.
